Tailored Shorts
The skirt alternative: pressed, high-waisted, cut to the top of the thigh with a proper waistband and belt loops.
Cut from the same twill as the pencil minis, with a curtained waistband, a concealed hook-and-bar and a centre-back dart. Pleated styles are pressed from the waistband so the fold survives a full day of sitting down. Cotton-elastane styles have a softer hand and a little recovery through the hip.
